A Guide to Getting Started with Rangeworthy Singers
What should I bring?
Just yourself, something comfortable to wear, a drink, and be ready to enjoy an evening of singing.
We'll provide the music, introduce you to everyone, and help you settle in. If you wear reading glasses, do bring them, and a pencil can be useful for making notes.
Most importantly, from the moment you arrive, you'll be made to feel part of the choir.
Where do I go?
When you arrive, please use the white entrance doors at the end of the building, opposite the play park. There's a ramp, so the entrance is fully accessible.
Once inside, introduce yourself to one of our members. We'll make sure you're warmly welcomed, introduced to Chris, our Musical Director, and shown where to sit. You won't be left wondering what to do!
What happens at a rehearsal?
Most rehearsals begin by welcoming any new members before enjoying a gentle vocal warm-up together.
Our Musical Director, Chris, will then give a brief overview of what we'll be working on during the evening, introduce each song and guide us through the sections we're going to rehearse or learn, helping every voice gain confidence along the way.
About halfway through, we take a short break - a chance to stretch your legs, grab a drink, have a chat, take a comfort break if needed, and hear any choir notices from our Chair, Nick, or other members.
After the break, we continue rehearsing in the same relaxed and enjoyable way before finishing for the evening.
Do I need to pay?
No. Your first rehearsal is completely free, so there's nothing to pay on your first visit.
If you decide Rangeworthy Singers is the choir for you, we'll explain everything you need to know about becoming a member, including our membership fees and how to join. There's no pressure - just come along, enjoy the evening, and see what you think.
